"It depends" is the honest answer, but it's not a useful one. Here's what website costs actually look like in India once you break them down by type of site, so you can tell whether a quote is reasonable before you get one.

A simple business website usually runs ₹35,000–₹75,000

This covers a well-designed 5–8 page site — home, services, about, portfolio, contact — built to convert, not just exist. Below this range, expect a template with your logo dropped in; above it, you're usually paying for custom design, copywriting, or a larger page count.

E-commerce and marketplace-ready stores cost more, for good reason

Payment gateway integration, inventory management, and a checkout flow that doesn't lose sales at the last step add real engineering time. Budget meaningfully above a brochure site — and be wary of anyone quoting e-commerce prices at brochure-site rates.

Custom software (CRM, ERP, SaaS) is quoted per project, not per page

Once you're past a website into a system with logins, dashboards, and business logic specific to how you work, pricing shifts to scope and complexity — a discovery call to map requirements comes before any real number, because two "CRMs" can differ by a factor of ten in build effort.

The cheapest quote is rarely the cheapest outcome

A ₹15,000 website that doesn't convert, breaks on mobile, or needs a rebuild in eight months costs more than a properly scoped ₹50,000 one. Ask what's included — revisions, hosting setup, basic SEO, mobile testing — before comparing numbers side by side.
